I’m Craig Wright, the proud founder and director of Smart Ohm — a Leeds-based electrical and smart home installation company with a difference. I live in Armley with my wife, our two amazing daughters (aged 11 and 6), and Willow, our bonkers but loveable cocker spaniel who keeps us all on our toes!
My electrical journey began back in 2005 with Albert Innes — the oldest electrical company in Leeds — where I gained invaluable experience and a deep respect for the trade. Since then, I’ve worked across a wide range of sectors, including commercial, public sector, rail, and telecoms, before deciding it was time to build something for myself.
Like many tradespeople, I’d always dreamed of being self-employed, but with a young family to look after, taking that leap felt daunting. In 2022, I finally made it happen — launching Smart Ohm with a clear vision: to do things differently.

I also love that being my own boss means I can be there for the important milestones in my children’s lives — something that means the world to me.
Outside of work, you’ll usually find me spending time with my family, playing golf when I can, ice skating with the girls, or watching Leeds United and the Leeds Rhinos when I get the chance.
My vision for Smart Ohm is simple: to become the go-to name in Leeds and Yorkshire for anyone looking for a reliable, trustworthy electrician or smart home installer. I want to grow our team, create local jobs, and keep offering the same personal, honest service we’re known for.
