WHAT IS A SURGE DEVICE And what DOES THIS MEAN?
In short, the incoming voltage to the property can spike occasionally due to many factors, these are mostly from issues on your incoming supply like power cuts, and near by lighting strikes.
This can cause damage/injury to equipment and/or persons which could cost many £1000’s to replace, the current Electrical Regulations say that there “shall” be an surge device fitted.
The SPD disperses the voltage spike in a safe manner. You (the client) do have an option to opt-out of having the SPD fitted, but you need to be aware that by opting out, you understand these risks and take responsibility for any damage/injury to equipment and/or persons.
By ticking the box below you are accepting that you have read this document, you are explicitly stating that you understand the associated risks of not having a Surge Protection Device fitted, are happy to proceed without having a Surge Protection Device fitted and take responsibility for any damage/injury to equipment and/or
persons.
